Bistro Award winner, Michael Hughes has performed on stages around the world from Toronto to London, Tokyo to New York.
A sought after concert and cabaret performer, Michael performed with legendary producer, and 16-time Grammy Award winner David Foster on his highly successful, sold-out North American tour David Foster & Friends, alongside Earth Wind & Fire, Chicago, and Deborah Cox.
Michael has headlined the 5th Annual Global Cabaret Festival, Long Island Cabaret Festival, and Scotiabank’s Evening of Cabaret for Buddies In Bad Times Theatre. He has appeared in New York City at Birdland Jazz, The Laurie Beechman Theatre, The Duplex, and Feinstein’s at Loews Regency. In 2014, Michael was a Broadway World Award nominee for “Best Cabaret Performer”.
Theatre credits include: Tony (vocalist) for The National Ballet of Canada’s West Side Story Suite at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts, Gilbert Blythe in the hit Canadian musical Anne and Gilbert, Dean Hyde in the sold-out Canadian premiere of All Shook Up, and most recently, She Loves Me, Pirates of Penzance, and Into The Woods (upcoming) for The Thousand Islands Playhouse.
Michael's self-titled debut album was a Toronto Independent Music Award (TIMA) nominee for Best Adult Contemporary Album and a TWISI Award Winner for Best Album and People’s Choice Best Album. Doug began his Musical Directing career in Gr. 12 on his own show Socks (his high school's show, 2004). For his work, Doug was awarded a Top 20 Under 20 Award in Canada. In 2006, Doug won the Fen Watkin Scholarship of Music in Charlottetown, PEI. Since graduating from Sheridan College's Music Theatre Performance program, Doug has produced two separate concerts of original music: Colours & Testures, and Music Makes Me (which featured over 60 musicians). He currently writes shows for Suitcase Theatre, and conducts three choirs a week with the company My Pop Choir. www.dougprice.ca
